What I do know is that once I have honoured the terms and conditions of one contract I am free to negotiate a new one.
Well of course you are free to do so. The question isn't one of whether you are allowed to. It's whether you will achive a positive result from doing so (for you individually and the contracting bortherhood as a whole). Continually negotiating an increased rate is likely to pee clients off both you, and contractors as a whole.
