Good job the agency added value by providing a level of service which included assessing the info on the CV.

Good job the client queried her technical skills in an interview.

Good job the rush of high margins didn't cloud the entire process.

A real life example of what can go wrong if you stretch your CV (as a recent post in Business alludes).

Basically you need to be good enough to cover the 1st week's transition from book-learning to on-the-job competence...

At least one bit of your interview technique needs to be truthful - the 'yes, I can do the job' bit.

I have found that the 'aggressive to clients' thing can be cultural - I don't think I'd put Wipro/Mastek contractors in front of clients within the 1st month or 2, until I trusted them not to do something daft like that.

Also found out she has been in the UK for 4 months and her last position (abroad) was for Wipro.

When I was a permie, I had the job of escorting a contractor offsite once. The person had to be told of their contract termination in a "glass room" (one with lots of internal windows) in case they became violent and I had to inform security. I wasn't allowed to use the lift on the way out of the building, though personally I think there was more chance of being assaulted on the fire escape stairwell.

Although the person in question had time to clear their emails etc. they didn't do a thorough job. Beware what you leave on a company machine!

                      If only

Wish i could get the contractor working with me fired. I'm a contract PM, we were both hired in to finish off loads of projects that the permies couldn't/didn't have time to complete, with him being my 'techie' . Hes a total waste of space...incorrect skills, missing deadlines and a total pain to deal with. Been complaining about him constantly, they keep giving him 'second chances'. at the end of the day as PM it will be 'my' projects that fail cos of him!
