Spurs and England striker Jermain Defoe yesterday revealed the crisis engulfing the former North London giants (edit: ) has led to cutbacks so serious the club can no longer afford to feed its players. During the (undeserved) 1-0 win over West Ham at tulipe Hart Lane, Defoe was heard to mutter "I could murder a lasagne" before taking a bite out of Hammers Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano. Defoe later defended his actions, saying "the manager eats all our lunch. We are all forced to starve because that fat bastard won't leave anything for us. I had to take drastic action to highlight the plight of the most underprivileged in our society - Tottenham players."
Spurs manager Martin Jollyfatbastard hit back "Last time we gave the players lunch before a game, they all shat themshelves. This time I wasn't taking any chances."
