Pretty much, we're just working through the details of a new super stealth tax on recently purchased flats, West Midlanders, and lefties.

    Otherwise, it was pretty boring.

You are in PSC when you check the relevant box in your self assessment

Surprising 20% capital gains tax reduction is good, only I have a question - why this fook wants owners to SELL their companies instead of keeping them working for decades and pay dividends, keep people hired???

CGT changes are good, most certainly won't last past 2020.

17% corp tax in April 2020, so that's as if it never happened.

You are aware that the CEO was invited to Downing Street for a chat with the prime minister the other week, then?

Going for a cup of tea at No.10 does not (a) impress me or (b) suggest they are influential. Can you produce a list of positive outcomes IPSE have made over say, the last 5 years. What are their real milestone achievements ?

As PCG they were instrumental in sorting out the cluster**** that was the original Public Sector CLOne contract with Capita 2 years ago. Helped to avoid meltdown in multiple departments as contractors refused to sign the new contract. They got it re-written in contractor friendly terms that made it possible to get working arrangements agreed to put you outside IR35.

The trouble with heading some bad things off before they hit the headlines and the statute book, is it's something that people aren't aware of.

Most recently, however, there was the somewhat successful response to the IR35 discussion document last year, the response to the T&S consultation, and the robust challenge to the mooted one month rule.

If you don't believe that they are influential then that's fine - as I said, you get to reap the successes whether you are a member or not.

Well that's good to hear, but it's all cart before the horse. I had the same issue at HS2/DfT and we re-wrote my contract. IPSE had nothing to do with that.

I'd happily rejoin IPSE if I felt they had any sway over how we are treated as E'ees. In the last year alone things have gone from bad to worse.
