Can't they just catch a few specimens of each endangered species, sequence their genes, and freeze them in liquid nitrogen in some remote arctic repository, like those seed samples?
That way it wouldn't matter too much if they went temporarily extinct, because future generations can reintroduce them when the time is right, along with their essential symbiotic bacteria and so on.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ here
