Yes asbestos removal is expense, yes the profits are good, what cost is risk?

Removing asbestos sofits boards save me approx £10k, I was quoted £12k for job but doing it myself for £2k and that includes scaffolding and proper disposal at a licensed place,

I got rid of mine free at the local tip with the following requirements:
double bagged or wrapped in heavy duty plastic sheeting
not sticking out from the packaging
no more than 10 feet (3 metres) x 5 feet (1.5 metres)
kept damp

Me old man started out his working life as a fitter & used to tell us how they would make snowballs out of the asbestos cladding used in industrial boilers and throw them around the workshop. He was amazed not to have been affected by it - poor Micky Most died from Mesothelioma just by being in a building when renovation work was being carried out - suppose you have to have a genetic disposition

Yes, we used to handle it all the time, very itchy.
Obviously, there were next to no regulations to do with the stuff back then.

My dad died from Mesothelioma 30 years after dismantling a garage with an asbestos roof. It lies dormant for years.

Many, however, the Mrs puts that down to being a miserable grumpy git, in general, nothing to do with Asbestos.
