It is extraordinary that in true Geek style everyone is talking about the wording of the question rather than the point that was being made. Are you lot really so stupid?

That's how it works here, as evidenced by threads where, for example, I say faith is bad, i define what I mean by faith, and then 15 pages follow where people argue against a different meaning of faith, or argue that my definition is wrong.

Words are a tool, and so long as everyone can agree on a definition at least temporarily for the sake of argument, the accuracy of the definition doesn't matter.

Accepting that requires one to be honest though. Wherein the problem lies.

Dodgy Capitalism: Ignore others, it's all about yourself. The consequences of your actions are irrelevant if they do not affect you. If someone else does something that affects you, you have the right to sue them. The person with the most money when they die is the winner.


Socialism: Work with others for the benefit of society. Make money, but be prepared to help those who are in need (not in want).




Example of socialism in action: We drive on the left hand side of the road in the UK. That is a society-based action which is for the benefit of society. Capitalism in action: Hog the overtaking lane(s) and never pull over, after all it's your right and pulling over might help someone else.
