Relax, private debt is a good thing. It's not Govt problem, and there is no other way to grow easily enough for politicians - debt is shifted to private individuals, taxes shifted to businesses (higher wages, "apprentice levy", business rates via council outsourcing). Dip stick Osborne however does not want to admit that it won't be enough - his last pre-budget was effectively walk away from austerity using made up accounting tricks based on future growth that may never happen.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostAll going to plan, don't worry, be happy: Economy concerns as household debt rises to £40bn in latest figures | Business | The GuardianComment

The last large government project I was involved with was based on a 40 odd page report from Whitehall. The report reminded me of a GCSE project I completed back in the 80's so I was interested in its origins.
After a little investigation (google search) I had found the main authors linked-in profile. Now this document was the basis of a multi-million pound spend by each of the big 6 energy companies. It was written by a 23 year kid who was previously employed by a school to look after the photocopying, serving three departments simultaneously no less.
From this previously high skilled role he had become the private sectary of a MP and then a senior advisor within DECC. One can only presume that his parents \ Oxbridge connections landed him this job which then saw twat-o (me) working all hours to implement this regulatory change.
That was my last permanent position.Comment

Astonishing how some spotty kid who has no skills whatsoever and should ideally be serving at Mcdonalds, instead gets into the political establishment and talks utter bollocks making the politicians think he is a whizz kid. Soon he will rise to the top and make our lives miserable.Originally posted by coolhandluke View PostThe last large government project I was involved with was based on a 40 odd page report from Whitehall.
