My gardener / tree surgeon provides logs, somewhere in the region of £70 for a large pick-up truck full .
He has been felling in our garden recently so don't think I will be needing to buy firewood any time soon.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

I suppose there are differences in what we all get through too. We go through the stuff like it's on fire.I'm a smug bastard.Comment

For our pied-à-terre in Edinburgh we have a wood burner, which I stock up every year with a 1-2 tons of hard wood only. Burns for longer. All of which is kilned dried. I get 2-tons for £120 or thereabouts."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

I don't have a coal shed, but I do have a wood shed (recently re-organised to get the seasoned stuff to the front) and then a wood store at the back of the house. The coal stays in the Wife(tm)'s shed, which is also where I keep the recycled logs (compressed mdf dust/woodchip and paper logs).…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Personally just keep a biggish store out back and a boatload in the inglenook. Holds about a month's worth at full winter pace but it'll get emptied over Christmas with the outlaws lighting the fire at 8am every day.
For kindling I split wine cases.I'm a smug bastard.Comment
