Yes, the treaty clearly states that "all members will practice collective defense, except when one member is threatened (for apparently defending their borders), in which case they should be expelled immediately".

It's complicated the whole NATO thing as Hollande with Obama at the moment and off to Moscow later this week. France and Russia are already cooperating against ISIS and they are NATO as well

I don't think anyone is really up for WW3 apart from the nutters in the pentagon. Those closer to the proposed battlefield might have other ideas. Why don't they just round up all the neocons put them on an island somewhere and let them play battle royale - the world would be a much safer place...

Turkey has a war on it's borders unlike the other countries Russia likes to invade the air space of. We also know what happened in the Ukraine, Egypt, France, Mali etc. So if you ask a few times, the pilots don't identify themselves, apologise and get the f*** out they deserve what they get.

Yes it's true that Russia use to play with the others air space from all countries of NATO but no member shooted, was escorted and it's the correct procedure.
