I used to lived in the most republican area of the north of Ireland.
I found your comment "In regards to the IRA read up on Irish and also Scottish history it's not hard to find sources of information on the web." humorous to say the least.
Now explain to a child why people they have absolutely nothing to do with keep trying to blow them up.
And by child I don't mean teenager."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

There are places where the risk is much higher - London is one of them.
What you argue here is a manifestation of a defence mechanism - you are in denial.
The UK media and government have spent a great deal of time (14 years or so) and money ensuring the mindless public are living in perpetual fear of the "terrorist threat". I guess it's working.
Average number of deaths per annum by terrorism? Wait for it.

The 5 deaths per year is from 2012. Since then the number of terrorist murders globally has trebled. Number of deaths per year doesn't necessarily indicate the risk of terrorism.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

It's a pretty damn good indicator of the risk of being killed by terrorists. Nonetheless we're arguing semantics.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostThe 5 deaths per year is from 2012. Could you be killed by a terrorist? Yes. Is it likely? Very not.I'm a smug bastard.Comment

If you're looking at deaths in the UK, then look in the mirror. Suicidal people are far bigger killers that suicide bombers.Originally posted by LucidDementia View PostIt's a pretty damn good indicator of the risk of being killed by terrorists. Nonetheless we're arguing semantics.

I think we'd be hard pressed to find any cause of death which is less likely tbh, barring the occasional Darwin Award winner.Originally posted by meridian View PostIf you're looking at deaths in the UK, then look in the mirror. Just shows how effective all this anti-terror legislation is then, doesn't it.Originally posted by LucidDementia View PostIt's a pretty damn good indicator of the risk of being killed by terrorists. Nonetheless we're arguing semantics.
