Quite interesting how the emotions of envy and control come spewing out at the sight of someone making more money than another person. I did not read of any moaning or complaints about their lifestyle at all. I did read that they faced a challenge of getting what they want out of life from the income they earn. I also see the column as one set out to give advice to others on financial matters.

They are facing the same basic choice that everyone, at every income level has.

Given a wish list of A,B,C,D & E - and an income that can only fund 4 of them, you have two basic choices.

        1. Increase income.
        2. Prioritise your wish list

This couple basically refuse to do (2) - everything is a "priority" for them. That's bull. Even a 0.001%er still has to make choices - do you have a second private jet, or a new yacht.

They have to decide whether private education is more important than their lifestyle, which sounds very expensive, given they must have ~80K of disposable income even after paying the mortgage - wtf are they spending it on - to have nothing left in the bank at the end of each month.

Well they don't want to sacrifice their lifestyle and they don't want to sell their BTL, sounds like refusing to me...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

They can't save anything, so I reckon they are making less money than a Syrian refugee washing cars in London.

They are not in a position to refuse they are just asking for advice.
Unlike your ilk they are not asking for anyone else to support their lifestyle
