Logistics of getting car repaired

My car's starter motor packed in a month ago, RAC sorted out a flatbed to come and pick it up and drop it off at the garage, all for free.

I used ServicingStop once. They collect your car from work, screw it up and return it. Had to take them to small claims court to get my money back plus cost of repairs.

I can't think of anything I'd like to spend my money on less than car repairs. Added to that the garage is always 20 miles in the wrong direction from where I need to be & dropping off / pick up times aren't compatible with office hours.

So...

In this day and age, doesn't anyone (reputable) provide a service where someone comes to your house, takes your car away, fixes it and brings it back?

And if not, why not?

Always a problem. Especially if you need car to get to client site.

Mobile mechanic? I've used these in the past and even got them to rock up to client car park to sort my motor (assuming client has a car park).
