Aside from French Bulldogs not being able to birth naturally due to the head size and requiring a caesarean and the associated mortality rate that is.

            Ah, that I didn't know.

Hmm, well maybe I'll stick with Plan A - Pedigree Jack Russells.

P.S. Not interested in all those sob stories about abandoned dogs and rescue centres etc - They aren't my fault, and I wouldn't be adding to the problem.

It's true of a lot of the brachycephalic breeds. Skull size to pelvis ratio.

If you are breeding dogs for sale, you are adding to the problem.

If you are breeding "pedigrees" you are adding to the health problems.

Might not be "your problem", but it would be you who is responsible for adding to it.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Hmm, well maybe I should go back to my original plan - Breeding edible snails

Now you can't tell me _they_ need caesarians.

You need to chose a breed of dog there is not a lot off, and people who want them will pay for them but treat them extremely well.

So the breeds you have currently mentioned are all out.

Plus you shouldn't breed dogs (or cats for that matter) to make money. Unless your dog (or cat) is one that has won lots of awards ( so is inbred and has lots of genetic problems) you don't make loads of money for the amount of hassle you go through.

I've worked along side contractors who were pedigree dog and cat breeders. Their pets only had a couple of litters and it was hard work. They didn't allow their pets to have more litters because they didn't want a dead pet.

We need our award winning whippet when I was a kid. She had 13 pups. They destroyed the garden and my parents worked out they were about a grand down in the end. We kept the best one who was wonderful though.
