Former brothel keeper made £500,000 in three years just yards from local police station
Court hears that business was so brisk at Mark Cass's brothel in Darlington, that the girls had time sheets to keep on top of their busy schedules and he bought condoms in bulk online
Cass netted an average of £166,000 a year and even turned it into a family business, employing his brother as a £300 a week manager of the vice den.
His operation was eventually discovered by immigration officials and undercover police officers, who were drafted in when it was discovered the girls were charging for sex.
Cass was jailed for a year for living off the proceeds of prostitution but now police are trying to seize assets they believe were earned during his days as a brothel keeper.
In an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act, the authorities say Cass must surrender his £47,000 home in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees and a BMW car worth £4,000.
