Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Or for just £5.50, three birds with one stone. Park and stay at Suitys & a bunk up with the missus for just 50p. You'd just have to put up with the screaming kids and Suity watching you from the end of the bed.

What time do you have to be there in the morning? Would a hotel the night before not make more sense

Lots of hotels at Luton airport, with good transport links to the station.

The East Midlands train takes 24 mins to St Pancras.

Stay in a hotel with parking the night before, plenty of cheapish ones around the m25 and get a train or tube in.
All depends where in London you have to get to?

M6 M1 from NW is ok if not traveling on monday or friday

As a side suggestion, rather than going into Euston/St Pancras, how about getting a train direct to Kensington?

National Rail Enquiries - Journey Planner - Trains Times and Fares

Southern do trains from MK which are just over an hour to Kensington. No changes, no tube.
Only issue is that they only run once an hour, but if that suits you then it's an easy route.

If you come down the M40 instead there's Haddenham & Thame Parkway, or Banbury which has quite a large car park now, or Didcot Parkway.

Best to spend as little time in or around London as possible.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Various options that I've taken down the years:

M62/M6/M5/M42/M40 - park at Hillingdon tube station, Metropolitan line straight in
                  M62 E/A1/M11 - East London/Canary Wharf only

These days I'd avoid M6 south of Stoke and the M1 south of Leicester. Too many 50 zones with average speed cameras.

If you're leaving Manchester at that sort of time, the 5:05 Picc to Euston would get you in at half seven. Then it's Victoria Line to Green Park and swap on to the Piccadilly Line.

Book sooner rather than later and use virgintrains.co.uk - it's a pound cheaper than the trainline website. Also use contactless payment card rather than cash for getting round. You'll find it's less than half the price of an equivalent Metrolink journey.
