I think this is a media distraction away from the embarrassment of CMD being shamed into accepting more refugees - also to sell the general public on more airstrikes.

This happened on August 21st so why are they making such a big deal about it right now?

Whatever the excuse for doing it we are not supposed to be in Syria dropping bombs as I remember it being voted against in 2013. So whatever way you look at it it's illegal and illegal military action is a good thing is it? Where does it stop? There has to be some adherance to international law or shall we just follow the US while they roll over Syria and into Iran (oops forgot Russia is in the way).

I'm with Corby on this one and I hope this PR stunt backfires on CMD.

David Cameron under pressure to explain legal basis for drone attack in Syria - UK Politics - UK - The Independent

Seriously - where does it stop if countries can just do WTF they want whether it's legal or not?

I also expect a massive fear campaign from Murdoch coming up to the renewed commons vote on bombing Assad (oops I mean ISIS) - maybe even some fresh terror attacks just to seal the deal...

Ok, so when Syria (or any other country for that matter) breaks international law by bombing it's own population into stone age, causing massive humanitarian crisis which results in millions of people running away from the country, then what should civilized countries do?

Let the Chinese sort it out.

Every time the UK interferes it makes things worse.

Or maybe we should use WMDs on them. Or send in the tooth fairy....

            Follow international law

I'm not saying do nothing - I'm saying that whatever you do do it legally. That's what civilized countries do.

I believe Blair was a war criminal and so is Cameron.

                Ok. So not mainland UK.

This one was in the UK. Turns out he was entirely innocent. But the thing to note is that the UK police are trained to go onto public transport and shoot you in the head, without hesitation, if they believe you are a security threat.

So it's not anything new. The UK security services will act to eliminate threats that they identify. Not always going to get it right. Not always going to get it wrong.

It's just a novelty factor. By the time we're up to the 10th "successful" strike it wont even be reported.

There is a way to avoid being taken-out by a UK Reaper drone. Don't go to a conflict zone. And if you do, don't take pictures of yourself with an AK-47. It's not a gap-year.

Quite, only the rule of law stops wars in Europe or we'd end up with Russia invading the Ukraine like that's about to happen
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

You are saying exactly that - do nothing. Well, that's what happened with Syria in last few years and finally millions of people from there decided to change residence, it would have been a lot cheaper to kill Assad with precision missile 4-5 years ago.

Did you see the last series of 24? Terrorists hacked and took over UK drones and started blowing up bits of London. Including a hospital.

Fiction, but now everybody knows we have the technology, quite plausible.
