I get more custody than my ex wife. Due to the fact that I am not a fat, whining moron who will fight(well put on a batman outfit) for his kids when the chips are down.

When the chips are down you eat them.

Seriously - can't you think of your kids rather than yourself? Do you really want the UK as a place where the young will be the first generation in hundreds of years who will be worse off than their parents?

Shouldn't be a problem if they save hard enough for a few years, just like the rest of us did. Perhaps they should set their sights lower than a house (a starter flat, perhaps) and a longer timeframe than "I want to buy as soon as I've finished university".

Student fees. And all they want is a flat. Not that its much good if you want to have a child.

If they work hard they should be able to afford somewhere to live. Is that too much to ask?

My kids aren't going to struggle. They already both have enough money invested to pay for their entire University Fees, a car and a good deposit on a house when they hit 18. Then with that golden start, they're on their own.

How do you know the deposit will be enough? Maybe when they are 18 the average house price will be £1m and so a £200k deposit will be needed?

Never mind about other children though. Pull up the social mobility ladder.

Will they have enough to afford car insurance?

I'm sure you will be on your own too, after they dump you in a care home for all that you did for them

Sorry sal you'll have to explain the last part to me as I'm not too clued up with pensions

Great, if the average price hits a million each, I'll be sitting on another 4m. Thanks, made be feel much better now, knowing I've got it all sorted for the future.
