Time for the UK to have a new capital?

Queen 'could move out of Buckingham Palace' - BBC News

Parliament repair 'could cost £5.7bn' - BBC News

Why not just move them all elsewhere? How about Edinburgh?

The queen of course has plenty of other residences she can use.

The MPs could use portcullis house or the DTI/MOT and displaced staff there could move elsewhere. There are plenty of government offices round there that could be used many are probably empty now.

The SNP, got much more power than they deserve through shrill nationalism and a trick of the electoral system, are calmly committing political suicide by peeing off every person they possibly can, for no gain. This is not smart. Clapping in the commons, stealing the beast of Bolsover's seat, and now sneering at the (very popular) head of state. Petty.

I thought The Queen flitted between Windsor and Balmoral and hardly ever bothered with Buck House.

They now think it will be cheaper to tear down the 10 year old Scottish parliament and build a new one

            It's the exact opposite actually.

Hitler earmarked Winchester to be the UK Capital city had his invasion been successful hence he ordered it not to be bombed.

Plenty of disused airbases around the country that parliament could be relocated to. Built in security. A bit of EWI onto a hanger and bob's your uncle.
