You could cycle up the A68 and go across but it isn't much better.

Can't be any worse than cycling in central London.

That's scary, I think one of the most frightening pubs I've ever been into was The Centurion in Throckley, not as bad as The Forge Hammer on Scotswood Road, but definitely not nice.

Let's get one thing clear here, pal, I have NOT been banned from driving.

I was born with a club foot and I have recently undergone one of the many surgical procedures I've had to endure in my life that leaves me wracked with pain (pain, I hasten to add, that has got considerably worse since reading your chippy little post) and temporarily renders me unable to drive.
