    Read boss's mind?

Boss tells me to do something one way. I do it exactly the way he says. Then he tests it in different situations unavailable to me, and it has a flaw. This is a mess, he says. That's because you did it this way.
That's how you told me to do it.
But you also have to do this other thing, in case of..

    Thinks:
    1. shut up and keep invoicing.
    2. bring CV up to date.

    Am I assessing this correctly?

    3. Do the job properly in the first place?

You know what they say about assumptions!

I want my account deleted and all of my information removed, I want to invoke my right to be forgotten.

Yeah, I tried that one. As in, what exactly is the requirement?

Reply: just do this now, we need it urgently.

I assume he's a permie, if he was a contractor he would have MTFU by now

OK, the Project Manager. I am a contractor, pretty much always have been. I'm just impatient with the tulip the avoidance of which is one of the reasons I am a contractor.

The skill in software development isn't coding up what they tell you to do. It's coding up what they need.
