It says on my CV that I'm a reporter and article writer. When I need to submit an article on, say, lying on your CV, I just post messages on forums and get loads of quotations for free, thus saving me loads of time to do other things.

I lied on my CV. I told 'em I'd just come back from travelling when really, I'd been back for a fortnight!

It's allways struck me that if you had to spend a certain amount of your time in prison that contracting would be the ideal way of working. Only once have I been asked if I had a criminal record and that was for a role at Greater Manchester Police - apparantly they have had occasions where the person they were interviewing was actually wanted.

A couple of years worth of past history could be 'made up' as I don't think that is checked often either.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

And info on the CV for that person was not enough for them to check if he was wanted?

We used slightly more colourful language. He was fecking up our network at the time and we were having to fix it so we could do some work. The thing that beggars belief is that he had been shuttled around the same company for about a year before he got to us and we highlighted every **** up he made until his contract was terminated.

And it wasn't me, before one of you cheeky feckers gets in first...

Nope. Agencies take contact info off their CV's. There are literally millions of people out there and many will have names which are the same/similar to some of those who are wanted. As part of the interview process they then do a criminal check - once you have given them your DoB and address.

Its like a veritable Jackanory on here.

I understand Artesco has the words 'well endowed' in his Other Skills section, Mordac has selected not to show his criminal record for GBH and AtW has two companies on his Previous Work Experience Section. He knows paperround doesnt count!

Sorry Nicky P, I've never lied on my CV either. However, I've worked with a few who must have!
