You've never met a contractor working via an umbrella company? You should get out more, there's about 800000 of them.

The party of business has said that they would legislate to prevent a rise in NI, income tax or VAT.

So if the figures don't add up, and they need to get some more revenue somewhere, there's very few things left (like corporation tax) that Osborne could play with. He's happy to rule out a rise in NI, income tax and VAT, but refuses to do the same for corporation tax.

      That's not very business friendly.

You're missing the point completely. Flexible workers shouldn't be voting Labour regardless of Umbrella/Ltd. Labour doesn't like you, they don't want flexible working, they want to go back to giant companies, Unions, public ownership.

You're missing the point completely. Voting on principles that you believe in doesn't make you a hypocrite.

Small businesses just want to be left alone. One of the best thing govt could do is to slash business rates in poor areas.

                  very good.

Amazingly enough, these bloody Marxists/communists at the SNP did that eight or nine years ago. time for the UK to catch up ?

And not just in poor areas, in all areas of this region of North Britain.
