Statistical noise. Poll of polls the only one that matters.

You seem rather pessimistic and depressed about the state of the country.
But that POV isn't shared by many.
Why do you think you think like that?
Have you not prospered? Same question to Dim, come to think of it.
        Are you a loser?
Didn't do too well at school?
Can't make it in the most dynamic economy in Europe?
        No good with women?

Then VOTE UKIP! We'll make you whole again

At least we're not at Russias level yet, no one person controls both the government and the opposition, even though that the dividing lines between Labour and Tories have become blurred
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Read a science fiction story decades ago about a society with real democracy. Voters could go into booths at any time and press buttons to rate performance of politicians who all had explosive collars round their necks. If sufficient voters voted negatively their heads blew off.

Seemed far fetched at the time but the technology certainly exists today. We should implement it immediately.

It wouldn't work - every MP would be dead by now.

Sounds like a Bob Shaw story, I can certainly see the attraction of the technology, it would liven up televised debates too
