Trouble was the actual system was slow and crap. Took him about a year to finish.
Huge, impenetrable, a nightmare to maintain/modify, object oriented to the atom.
A guy joined the company who'd previously used a 'code behind' visual gui designer tool
- using this it took him one day from scratch to produce a better, faster system.
