... and wouldn't explain why the aircraft didn't change course. If the pilots were in control they would have diverted to an alternate airport not just ploughed on towards the Alps.I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. Someone mentioned that a double bird-strike was unlikely. But this is about the time of year countless millions of birds, including flocks of large geese, are migrating back north to Europe over the alps.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Do think a goose smashed into the cockpit and disabled the pilots as two of its friends knackered the engines?Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostSomeone mentioned that a double bird-strike was unlikely. Sudden decompression brought on hypoxia?Originally posted by GlenW View Post... and wouldn't explain why the aircraft didn't change course. Feasible, although the descent rate wasn't as high as it should have been, usually engines to idle, -4,000 to -6,000 fpm, use speed brakes to keep IAS below Vm. Most of this descent was less than -3,500 fpm. Although, hypoxia could have kicked in as they were adjusting their descent and as IAS increased their descent rate would have reduced.Originally posted by suityou01 View PostSudden decompression brought on hypoxia?I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. Better idea that one, geese fly much slower than A320s do, so they would have slowed the plane down too much and it then crashed.Originally posted by suityou01 View PostMaybe the geese hijacked it?
