The part in the second referendum debate where Darling was trying to explain the difference between a country having currency and owning a currency was when I realised these things were pointless.
Darling said something like "yes you can still keep the pound" and Salmond said "there you go" and the crowd cheered.
Few actually understood what was being talked about.

In the first debate though, Darling did utter the words "You will not be allowed to use the pound", which was an equally pointless statement, but for once, I agree with you. Televised debates are politically pointless, but always worth watching, just in case someone has a proper car crash moment.
When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....
If there is to be another indy ref the better together campaign should be made up of non politically aligned Scottish people who are in favour of the union.
It was a farce last time. Like a bunch of hockey, rugby and shinty teams amalgamating and trying to take on a team of footballers who have been practicing for that game for decades.
Still, the biggest downfall of the nationalist campaign was currency and they seem not to have revisited it whatsoever.

You voting yes next time then ?

The way things are going for me I won't care soon.
If Scotland wants it then they can have it, I just know it is the wrong decision and the public are being hoodwinked by undeliverable promises.
As opposed to staying in the union and being hoodwinked by undeliverable promises.
And now I'm going to be serious for a moment (I don't do this very often)....
Historically, my views were always slightly right of centre (always detested the labour party, grew up in Mount Vernon, which was a fairly affluent area in a tulip poor constituency). In 2008 I got a bit involved with the bye-election where the Labour MP got booted by the SNP (first time in a million years that labour had been out of Glasgow East). That was followed by the SNP wins in Holyrood. The main point being this: prior to that I had been pretty much anti independence until I actually had it demonstrated to me that the Scottish electorate were capable of doing something other than vote Labour over and over again. So, the short term economic woes of an Indy Scotland don't worry me that much. You can change the system with 5M voters a lot easier than you can with 60M. If that were to happen, I think a switched on electorate of 5M would hold parties to account better than we have been able to do as UK. We're currently ruled by two useless parties who tinker round the edges of policy rather than risk a bad headline. We need something more proactive. Who knows what shade of governments you might see in iScotland if it were to happen. We know for a fact they won't be consistently red.
Serious moment over. Will be back to insults in future posts

Ok, I'm not interested in changing systems or politics for that matter, I just want to get on and get a decent living, the way that I get a decent living is being ahead of the herd by both brains and a bit of muscle. I really could not care less about independence, labour or the conservatives really, I just want the political system to stay out of my way and stop spending the money I pay in tax frivolously.
My father was from a single end in Parkhead, he became a company director of a well known UK brand through a grammar school education and total graft, nothing to do with politics.
The herd will always be the herd, just don't try and convince yourself that politics will change that.
