The SNP can dress this up all they want, they have failed in their main objective which was to prop up a labour government. That was all the SNP support would say to you over the last few months.

Salmond also made a complete fook up saying he would write labour's budget, thanks Alex, I'm sure that pushed quite a few floating voters to the conservatives. He is only going to get worse for this behaviour.

This is a high water mark for the SNP, it will be down hill for the next decade.

Yep, I can imagine him deciding after a couple of pints in a pub that a country that predominantly voted Labour for more than 50 years was too socialist.

I would expect that having all bar three of the parliamentary seats available to them would be a high water mark for any party.

You putting a bet on the SNP losing seats in 2016 Scottish Election then ?

Just to be pedantic for a moment. The SNP didn't fail in their main objective, unless you think returning 56 of 59 MPs is failure? The Labour party failed in England so that's why we don't have a progressive government. I think a lot of this was down to Miliband saying he wouldn't work with the SNP so a lot of their support down south either didn't vote or voted for UKIP/Green.

Alex Salmond's joke was clearly that. It's obvious to anyone who has watched the video or seen him speak at any events like that. He will be a thorn in the side of Westminster and I'm sure you would rather he hadn't been elected.

We got our Plan B - the MSM even tried to say before the election that Nicola would prefer a Tory government, going as far as to fabricate a conversation between her and the French ambassador. If Cameron doesn't now give us Devo Max as promised in the Vow then another referendum will be just around the corner.

It will be interesting to see how the SNP are going to square the circle.

Just about every country runs a deficit at the moment. It's all about being able to grow the economy to reduce the deficit and pay off as much as the debt as possible. The SNP plan is to take longer to reduce the deficit to avoid so much austerity at once.

IDS has been re-installed as DWP minister but he was kept out of the spotlight during the GE. His policies are responsible for a lot of pain/suicides all over the country.

Ireland we bailed out because lots of UK businesses had trade and other connections with Ireland. For example quite a few of the agents I've worked for the past few years have some of their operations based in Ireland. Ireland also wasn't a complete basket case i.e. their citizens do actually pay their taxes.

Greece the coalition government didn't want to give them money via the EU so said "No". However we gave them money by the IMF as we contribute to it.

This is why I said directly and indirectly.

In the case of Scotland if they do an Ireland rather than a Greece we will bail them out.

But they wanted a Tory majority, it plays into their teenage style lets play the victim theatricals
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

A bail out is a loan, so we do get the money back unless they do a total default, which is unlikely. Greece might default but it's a lot more unlikely than defaulting on private debt, which is what will probably happen.

On the whole IMF and inter-governmental loans don't get written off in the same way that normal bonds do, for obvious reasons, i.e. you need them from time to time to save your bacon.
