I was really proud when i passed the IQ test and got accepted into mensa. I just wish I had some friends to tell about it.

Took their exam during bench time and turns out I am in the top 2%
Mostly meaningless but no harm posting about it on CUK.
If you really have that IQ, you wouldn't post it on CUK (and in 'General' vermin-ed by Suity)Comment

I was put off IQ tests by a scholarship exam I sat at about the age of 10. I'd never seen anything like it before so was completely lost. It was no coincidence that a disproportionately high number of those who won a scholarship came from one school who gave coaching on those tests.Originally posted by Pogle View PostI did a test for mensa when I was on the bench in 2008.
My result indicated that I'm good at IQ tests.
I didnt join, as I when I sat down and thought about it, I figured it would be full of smug insecure twats.
I didnt want to add to thier numbers.
Also I'm crap at puzzles

Later in life I did a couple of computer aptitude tests as part of interviews and did well enough to get the job offers. Last one full marks, and that was after the tester had forced 5 pints down me; I suppose he wanted to see if I could still perform when under the affluence, so to speak, hiccough.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Last time I did one of these tests it was for a financial on the milk round, I never got asked back so I must have failed.
10 years later and I had a contract with the financial, earning 3 times as much as the people that presumably passed the thing.Comment

I was ordered to do the Mensa test when I was 12 by my parents who both got in.
IIRC the entry was 140 and me mum got 152. Me dad got 157. They had a Mensa badge on the front grille of their Mazda. Attended meetings etc.
I took the test and was off the fooking chart. I mean like Vorderman stylee.
I got a right going over by my teachers as I was crap at school.
Hated IQ tests ever since. And I found Mensa peeps as thick as pig tulipe.
I have met people smarter than me, about 2, and that's really nice.
The problem with having such a high IQ is you see everything way before the herd. Very very frustrating.
It is a curse, and unless you are working on projects for the betterment of mankind there is no point in having such a high IQ.Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

Perfect example of why a high IQ is useless without wisdom or even a smattering of common sense.Originally posted by suityou01 View PostI was ordered to do the Mensa test when I was 12 by my parents who both got in.
