As an aside My dad fookin' hates Jim Murphy, his house is near the church the old boy attends, says his garden is a complete state, spent 9 years at uni without graduating.
The SNP are praying Jim Murphy becomes leader because of his links to Westminster, the Iraq War, his expenses, etc. which will keep the ex-Labour voters on the SNP side. He will be seen as a puppet of Milliband.

Interesting that Labour won a council by-election recently in Midlothian. They were expected to lose but it seems the Tory voters tacticly voted for Labour to keep the SNP out. I can't see them doing it at GE2015 though as they might actually get Milliband as PM. SNP will win at least 30 seats and will join with any Plaid Cymru amd Green MPs to have a fair amout of power with a coalition almost a certainty.

        "tactically" "amount"

Green MPs? More likely to have a few UKIP MPs.

          V. busy today so typing fast

SNP won't do any deals with Tory/UKIP. Even if the Greens still only have the 1 MP they will join in a mini-coalition with SNP and Plaid. Although not in the main coalition (unless SNP go in with Labour which is unlikely, Labour will probably go with the LibDumbs) this wee group could hold a sway of power depending on how small the coalition's majority is.

If Labour were in power right now, the Autumn statement would be grim. Billions more poured into the public sector to please the Labour voting public sector employees, billions borrowed to fund the excesses, stamp duty raised across the board, air passenger duty doubled, income tax raised, tax on broadband, fuel duty doubled to help save planet, and tax on every byte downloaded off internet. Any other tax they can think of ?

They are useless, but just saying they are not the root of all evil.

Agreed, they are a bunch of clueless ****wits. Apart from spending and borrowing they dont seem to know anything about running a country.

Since there is an election next year if Labour was in power they wouldn't put any taxes in the Autumn statement. They would do an emergency budget after the election and then put their tax raises in there.

I suppose the best you can hope for from democracy is a government that does the right things for 4 years out of 5, and only spends the last of the 5 years introducing stupid populist policies, bribing the country with tax cuts, and saying daft things to get re-elected.
