    That's an interesting perspective Batcher.

I do wonder if there will be a massive anti Labour vote in Scotland, as you've pointed out there's a potential reason for it to happen, let's see (hope) if it materialises at an actual election.

Removing 30+ labour seats in Westminster would have a fun effect, with any luck it would prevent a Labour majority which is desirable at least to me

Local branch SNP meetings since the Indyref have been full with lots of people declaring they were members of the Labour party but have decided to leave and join the SNP. The last recorded figures for Labour membership was around 13,000 about 5 years ago and they don't publish now whereas the SNP have 82,000 and growing. Lots of union members also have asked that their subs to the Labour party are withheld.

Of course, this means the SNP will change a bit as these ex-Labour people become active in the organisation and the SNP operate a 1 member 1 vote system. Labour in Scotland still have the college system of voting so the members don't really get a big say in the big decisions.

Recent polls for Westminster voting intentions put SNP on 43% and Labour on 26% which would mean a loss of 20 seats for Labour. If you couple that with UKIP taking voters from the Tories down south it will be interesting in May.

Have Labour got little to fear from UKIP?

I think they will lose votes to them, especially in the north of England.

A party that thinks all poor people are lazy is not a party I'm interested in. Great for economic thinking (mostly), bad for community cohesion.
Though Ed Miliband makes'em look brilliant. And that Ed chap beside him - total idiot. Surely they could find someone better.

So you don't vote Labour either?

That is all well and good but the will of the Scottish people was to remain part of Britain.
