If you are fool enough to sign up to such a practice and think you are outside IR35 then you deserve the reaming that you're going to get.

No I will, however, accept retaliating in kind to a person who started by attacking me...

But then again I often find people with drink issues:
      • use alcohol to mask, hide and avoid from uncomfortable truths
      • don't understand their original actions and the resultant consequences....

Misquoting, leading questions, side arguments, noise.

This is one sided right enough.

If you fill out a form as a courtesy, then ok.

If the client demands you fill it out then that's d&c pure and simple.

Can we stick to just the one thing here rather than trying to blur things with other such trivialities that do not pertain to the argument I am making?

          So are we arguing about

          My alleged alchoholism?
          My parenting skills?
My decision to leave a contract?
          IR35 case law?
          Holiday requests?
          My attitude?
          This article I linked to?
          Employment tribunals?
          IR35 lawyers?
          Working practices vs contracts?

          Etc etc

My alleged alchoholism? if you want but at least you are starting to see that it may be a problem (based on that thread on Monday).
            My parenting skills? can do
My decision to leave a contract? That isn't what you've said multiple times in this thread
IR35 case law? It would be nice if you pointed us at the cases you referenced
Holiday requests? I don't do holidays, merely make myself unavailable offering a subby...
            My attitude? if you want
This article I linked to? we've tried that
Employment tribunals? only because you don't understand the difference between them and tax tribunals
IR35 lawyers? only because we are seriously curious as to why yours told you to leave a place over what seems a minor issue
            Working practices vs contracts?

Isn't it about time the lot of you came under a bit of D&C from your client, and were told to do some f$cking work instead of wasting the whole day bickering!

So if, in your next gig, clientCo ask that you record your leave in their system designed for permies what will you do?

                    Would you consider:

"Yes, if it's necessary for your administration of my planned unavailability" as an acceptable courtesy?

Does this system have an approve/reject mechanism?

Are there any other working practices that concern me?

Has the contract been passed by an IR35 vetter?

Are other consultants being excused this formality?

Does the working practices differ that wildly from the contract?
