To help others who may be in a similar situation with a limited company setup, if you are thinking of claiming the furlough allowance, and you have been paying your "staff" a small PAYE salary (say <£9k per year) so it is below the PAYE threshold for requiring submissions via the online real time PAYE system, then you will not qualify for this allowance. It's pretty crap because it means you will unlikely qualify for any other form of government support. This scheme is designed to make a good headline but will likely rule out a lot of people from qualifying. Surprised? Not really!
