Forgetting the "we get part of the agents money" versus "the agent gets part of our money argument, either way, the end client will be very interested to find out the actual percentage the agent is taking, especially if it is more than the agent said they were taking.
For you the contractor, it does affect you. You might be very expensive without knowing it (or rather, more expensive than you though) and this may affect your chances of being renewed.
