    Linkedin: Premium or Jobseeker?

Two months on the bench so time to splash the cash and upgrade my linked in profile…. maybe?

For your typical IT contractor looking for contact work is there any benefit to getting the Premium account over the Jobseeker?

    Premium £32.95 a month
    Jobseeker £19.95

    Thanks in advance...

I'm dubious. Linked in constantly spam me offering a free month of premium so maybe try before you buy?

I've thought about the same although in the past I have got a lot of leads from the free membership, albeit those were mainly permie roles.

Is a subscription allowable as a business expense?

If you are having to put £30 a month through the company you have bigger problems!

I have the basic free membership, but a good network of connections (including a lot of pimps) and as such get at least one enquiry a week (which in my niche is a high strike rate as JobServe only normally has 1 or 2 roles a week, albeit sometimes through multiple agencies)

          I am using Premium atm.

I would say for me the benefits are marginal. The ability to see more on the people looking at your profile, the searches used etc has been useful for tweaking content.

InMail isn't proving that worthwhile. I seek out recruiters and message them; about 50% get returned unread/rejected/ignored but LD the recredits them to you.

Overall marginal benefit but an expense I am willing to speculate on.

I put it through Ltdco directly as a professional subscription.

Problem for me, last time I looked on Premium was that you couldn't filter jobs by type so you'd have to be ploughing through a load of permie roles.

Don't know if that has changed?

Just join a contractor group, make a couple of posts and you'll have pimps sending you requests all the time.

Tried jobseeker for month when they offered me a month for free.

Totally pointless and I certainly won't be paying for it.

OK, thanks for all of the replies. Sounds like I won't bother if you can't filter on contract work any more than with the freebie account….
