    SC and Credit Check

    Hi All

My identity and address was misused by somebody in the past to get one credit card and have tried to apply for more credit cards but were rejected.

When I realised that I called the credit reporting agency and sorted it by closing that credit card account and my credit report is fair now.

For security clearance do I need to mention anything about this? If yes how to mention this?

    Thanks in advance.

Do they ask you about it on the forms? The answer for that question is the same as to whether you need to mention it. Also check out the sticky at the top.

Thanks. There are few question about the credit card/loan rejection in the past 10 years. Though personally I haven't applied for any loan or any credit card rejected for me, from the credit report I see that some inquires had been made on my name and address. How to answer for them?

Honestly. Explain what happened in the section for justification / explanation.

Just answer honestly, that is all they really care about.
