    How low will they go??

Just getting calls about roles in London. £150 per day

I know these are BOB rates but FFS.

And if they are for BOB why are they calling me?

I am an AIX Sys Admin (still)

Also getting calls about roles in North West england(knutsford)

Bob agent-->Bob Outsorcing co-->End client Barclays.
gut instinct tells me if I did go for a role with them, would I ever get paid what little they are offering.

Time to retrain, now where did I put my old McDonalds uniform

So they can say that they have tried but can't find anyone in the country who can do the job. As a result, they have no choice but to look abroad and get someone a visa.

There is / was a PCG campaign against it, looking for specific examples of agencies offering stupid rates for UK roles for this purpose.

These roles have been going the rounds since last October at least, I'm sure they are just quoting and bidding to the banks on the off chance and there's no actual role.

The last one that contacted me for similar for Lloyd's, the rate eventually crept up to a not so awful £400 for Leeds but the Bob never called for the pissing contest. I mean interview.

There's no job, its Wipro bidding for everything so no ICT to see here, move on!

I wish they would stop phoning then. Six calls from same agency different BOB.

They don't call me now! Ever since I applied - went through the motions, wasted their time and then said 'oh, thought you said £150 an HOUR! - not interested now, bye...'

Me and me colleague both did it to the same agent at the same time...

Interesting you mention that. One of my friends is working with Lloyds in Edinburgh. He was shocked to find out that TCS/Wipro were offering "bob contractors" at £80 per day. That's like 1/5th the normal rate.
No wonder most managers are filling in with bobs to make things look good expense wise, while turning a blind eye at quality. Similar story at Nationwide in Swindon. Back in 2009, they had contractors everywhere. Only Infosys and IBM had a bit of foothold. Suddenly in 2010, we had an influx of Wipro, TCS and Accenture. Accenture took over complete QA responsibility of all projects, and a lot of contractors were let go. Last year Accenture was fired, and the whole of QA was handed over to another bob co (Wipro or TCS, can't remember), because Accenture "was not good enough" End of the day, its all about who puts the lowest bid. Makes me wanna
I am Brad. I do more than the needful and drive the market rates up by not bobbing my head.

They can't get visa on this basis, only works with permanent jobs ..

Consultancies in the UK offer permanent jobs.

Doesn't mean you will be with the same client from one day to the next......
