Yesterday a guy called me, I could not get his name even after he repeated it. He said there is a contract in Paris, are you available? I asked what is it all about? He explained that I need a license. He said a lot of other things, but this was the only thing I could discern from his speech. He spoke a rather awful English - I place him somewhere south of China even though his number started with 0207... So, I told him I have a Prince2 license. He responded "something like that, I need to ask the client". At this point I thought I am talking to an 8 year old kid. Then he asked my rate, to which he replied we can only pay half of that. After a hasty good luck, I hung up. What the heck is this? A circus clown? Bob of all Bobs?

Funny call from agent or something like that...
My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way. -

There are many Indian companies with a registered address in London that have a telephone hooked up to a shack somewhere on the sub-continent sweat shop they work in. They promise contractors at half rates to companies stupid enough to believe them then try to fill them with contractors stupid enough to take the role. I am sure it's catching on in other countries too.
Don't trust them, hang up on them.
I suspect they may even be part of the TATA/Vince Cable clown circuit set up to justify droves of ICT visas by offering pitiful rates and then crying that no locals will take them ergo there IS a skills shortage.
Of course, governments of all persuasions are too stupid or greedy not to be sucked in by this kind of scam.
Scandalous!
