I've been applying for a few roles on jobswerve and have been attaching word doc as covering letters. Does anyone know if anyone ever looks at them ? Is it better to just fill in the covering letter text box with the same info or even just use the standard one there ?

They are never looked at.
I've spoken to agents which is why I know."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JR -

Lots of agents don't have an idea what the words on your CV actually mean, so expecting them to be able to understand a covering letter when they get 1000s of applicants is hoping to much.Originally posted by radish2008 View PostAwesome.
Thanks though."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

I have a combination of CVs and corresponding covering txt files which are very, very high level but contain the crucial piece of information about my availability dateComment

Applying through Jobserve is just a waste of time to my own opinion, i have neva gotten a job through Jobserve. This is my trick or should i say my method -
I look up the advertiser ,
google them ,
find thier number -
look for the agent who advertised the role,
Request for their email
Send my CV directly
and bam!! i have at least 40% chances that they will look at my cv .Comment

I've applied for most of my contracts via Jobserve. I usually get a callback within a day.
For the covering letter, I just edit the textbox on the form with a quick sentence, something like, "I'm interested in the contract, see my CV, if you think the client may be interested please get in-touch". Nothing more.Contracting: more of the money, less of the sh1tComment

I *always* call them. Submit job via jobserve, then call 15 minutes later to check they've received my CV as I *cough* "didn't get any confirmation from JobServe that it was sent"Originally posted by stek View PostMy method is just to wait till they call me!!
They usually dig it out and go through the role with you there and then.
