I learned not to connect with companies or members without pictures, unless I have been previously in contact with them and I trust them.

I even got ridiculous recommendation with full of fluffy expletives from a notorious spammer that he turned out to be. I got rid of him.

In some groups, I see people with 3 connections and pretty faces promoting something ridiculous (web pages with google ads hoping to make money by clicks). Today, I attempted to access one of the links advertised and my WOT plug flashed all red alerts.

One agent contacted me recently, who runs a company from Arkansas, having operation in India and wanted to place me in London, where he has no business entity. I gave him some good business advise...

        Beware of the fake members....
My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.

I wouldn't connect with anyone that I didn't personally know - full stop.

How do you get to know people if you do not talk with people to get to know them? Unless LinkedIn is only a notebook to keep contacts for you. I connect, have a dialog, then decide if I want to keep or drop. Mostly I keep unless the person becomes a nuisance. The more contacts I have, the easier it is to connect to those I really want. Also, the more contacts we have the more exposure we get. Like the most important factor in real-estate is location, location, and location, the most important factor in professional networks is network, network, and network. It wont hurt talking with people even if they are in a very different field (not mlm of course ). Well, this is only my personal opinion and it is up to an individual what to do with his or her LinkedIn membership.

If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.
