It happens that sometimes you get called back after weeks but this is the exception. So as everyone else says, assume it's a no and keep looking for other work but continue to pester the agent anyway if it's one you really want.

If you're wanted you will definitely get to know about it! For the agency it is a sale so they will dig up your dead relatives to inform you if need be. There is no need to be quiet, secretive, cagey or otherwise. A gig for all intents and purposes is a gig (usually).
