    WCS

I wouldn't be standing for that type of shennigans at all. Then again though I never apply for a new role through an existing agent when on a contract as I don't trust agents.
What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

To which you immediately said "No, that's not true. The agency asked for an up to date CV, which I gave them, but I told them that since I was in contract I had no interest in looking anywhere else. They tried to pressurise me into applying for another role but I put my foot down and told them that I wasn't interested in looking and they shouldn't even consider sending my CV out anywhere without my permission"

        ^ WHS.

Why on earth didn't you tell the client exactly what happened? I'd be fuming if my client raked me over the coals because of something the agency did. If you want to keep the gig I'd suggest a conversation with the client and be quite apologetic (but explain exactly what happened), then ring your agent and put a firework up their ass about it.

I did argue my case across of course, but it didn't hold much weight.

The agent is on AL till Friday so I'm waiting till then.

Cheers for the input though. Nice to see the problem from different opinions/experiences.

Its something I would never even dream of doing and if one of my colleagues did it I would hit the roof.

Very good way to have a relationship ruined...
