Isn't that less than your hourly rate Lisa?
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

Depends if you take the word of contractors you know on site.

Lad Im working with tried telling me the other day he was on £70 a day more than me. Only I know he isnt because I know from someone on site what his and the other team member's rates are. We are all within a tenner of each other.

IME contractors nears always inflate their rate when discussing with other contractors.
To answer your neg rep Bolshie....

I assume you must all be direct, so that is why the person on site can tell you what they are all getting.

If there was an agency in the way, how would you know what they are getting paid?

When I contracted through an Indian Company called Microland, we learnt that they were charging an extra 110% on our rate (700 per day) because the invoiced cost of us from Microland was on the Project Managers desk.

He used to shake our trees by reminding us that we weren't on 700 per day for nothing - it had the reverse effect on some people as they realised they'd been sewn up by the agent company.

I've never discussed my rate with anyone

I was with AC on my last contract, and had no issues with them. 2 of us were placed, at the max rate the client would pay and I believe the mark up was around 12%.

We were on more money than the hiring person, who was also a contractor, due to the low mark up AC passed on the client.

Thats my experience, add to that they paid within 6 working days of an invoice, I was happy!

Each to their own though, we all have reasons for disliking something.
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

Ha ha. They've updated the advert now to an upper threshold of £580.

Well, you need to look up that 'assume' up because it's made an ass of you.

Why do you think you have to be direct to know people on site!? And do you seriously think because there may be an agency in the chain that people arent able to find out what someone else is on?

                      Dear, oh dear.
