    HAYS contracts

Just received by email and a bit baffled. Received in RTF format, looks very unprofessional and the contract appears twice in the same document. The contract is less than a page long as well. Never received anything like this...... Anybody else experienced this?

I've worked for Hays IT. What you've got sounds like the schedule. There should also be a pdf document titled "Terms of Assignment of Consultants via a Limited Company Contractor" or something similar.

      Me too, WHS.
I found my agent at hays was crap at paperwork and. Didnt have a contract until i started.
My experience with hays was top class though, they have an excellent billing department and were open and honest throughout several renewals.

I have heard good things about HAYS which makes me all the more confused as to why I got such an awful looking contract.... It definitely was the contract, I got the other documents signed several days earlier.

Could you not just clarify with them?

My experience with HAYS IT was similar to what the previous poster said. Excellent chaps who never made a late payment, and unlike what you might think a big agency'd be like addressed your queries/phoned you back immediately.

            HAYS are generally good.

I have worked with them. No problems whatsoever.

I am very confident I will have no problem with HAYS

That is not my issue, just a bit surprised with the contract.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, I was trying to say that I had issues getting a contract out of them, and it worried me at the time because it went on so long. I got it around renewal I think

Despite being crap at paperwork, I still have fond memories of the agent there, photocopying my passport, then downstairs to beer and "wings" at the sports bar, whilst me and my mates started our friday night out.

Last time I used HAYS the contract was a HIT 20, and was quite long

I hope they've changed as there contracts were at least very borderline for IR35 and usually required getting legal advice to have them amended

Long time contractor - first time poster here.

I've just been sent through a copy of Hays' PSCToASR_1011 to sign for a new contract - but it's ringing very very loud alarm bells to me. I've tried to ask the agent some questions around it and his response was:

"Since you are essentially being employed by ourselves, you must adhere to our compliance regulations."

I'm just amazed at how blatant the disregard of IR35 is!

The contract is completely generic - and when I asked for the written confirmation of rate, hours, length of contract, etc... I was told that it would be in the Assignment Confirmation Letter which I'd get after everything was signed! (Not to mention that an "Assignment Confirmation Letter" in itself sounds dodgy IR35-wise).

Sorry, but I'm just gobsmacked at just how they can get away with this! I've never seen anything like it. I'm assuming, based on past comments on here, that Hays are totally inflexible. I think I'm going to have to regretfully pass on this one!
