Day 1 Monday: An agent A1 sent my CV me down for a role with a bank.
Day 2 Wednesday: An agent A2 phoned up about the same role that I had previously been sent down for.

Agent A1 and Agent A2 had different records in the candidate database R1 and R2. The difference between the records was my middle name. The agent A2 apologised and said they would like the records R1 and R2.

Also I found that for the role I was applying for, the agency was economical with the truth. I wanted a location and a contract job close to home. The agency secured me an interview on-line test with banking client. I passed it successfully. When I had the second interview with the client, they confirmed that the gig was 200 miles away from home. I was gobsmacked. How could the agency get this the location requirement so wrong?

Consequently, I blew the gig out, because it was not what I signed up for originally, I would've never applied and given confirmation for my CV to be sent down to the client.

What is your experience with TEK Systems? The whole process left a lot to be desired and I question the agency to resolve issues, the pay contractors on time and handle their business.
Very good, although that was with the Aston Carter part of the business.

I've had a couple of calls from them ostensibly leading to something concrete.

One of them required me to do a face to face with the agent, the other a "working interview" where I do a paid day's work with one of their clients & if they liked me, I got hired.

I was like warm about both & neither went anywhere.

    Definitely to be avoided.

Trust me, being a member of of a 'paid for' body means absolutely nothing. Zero.

APSCO is a little better as at least they reference the agencies but even then, they do zero regulation. I know of an agency that got many complaints and were members of REC. What happened from REC, nothing, they just renewed their membership, paid the annual fee and got a new REC sticker to put in their window.

Blimey. At the risk of appearing to protest too much, this is so far from my experience with SQ1.

    Square One Resources

...I think I am considered a "pioneer" in my area of specialisation and almost always win the interviews I am put forward to. I also do a lot of recruitment for the clients i work for and would definitely be interested in outstanding profiles such as mine.

I have responded to TONS of ads from Square One that were SPOT ON and NEVER EVER had any sort of real response.

A pattern with Nigel Frank, though, is that I often receive LinkedIn invitations after me responding to their ads. I am absolutely sure that they just want to crossreference my CV with my LinkedIn connections so tha they can spam hiring managers with LinkedIn messages...
