When your only roughly earning double what senior permies are making but have all the extra overheads e.t.c..
I remember earning 600pd quite comfortably (138k over 46 weeks) which was 2.3 times my gross permie salary. Now my currently skill set affords only 96k roughly over 46 weeks which is only 1.5 times my gross permie sal....Comment

The advertised average rate on itjobswatch dropped by £25pd for my skillset today.
Am expecting some similar at ClientCo soon, but am in quite a strong position being a team of one supporting a client facing team.

I got hit with 3 rate cuts at Barcap in 2008, and then they served notice on my contract position the day they game me a perm contract to sign. In hindsight, the only thing to do is make sure money is in the bank, and the moment they notify you of the rate cut, immediately resign and call their bluff. I know for a fact they make exceptions, but only if you stand your ground.Comment

Only accepted a rate cut once back in 2007, will never do so again. If the client wants to keep you won't get a cut.
If your boss / business manager manages by spreadsheet, i.e. is not up to the job, then it can be rate cuts all round. If that's the case then time to go
If you're good enough you should be able to get another role. If you're not then you shouldn't complain about the cutComment
