They also take a hair sample to do a drugs test, I think that goes back three months or longer if they take it from somewhere other than your head.

They can go back 6-12 months I think with a hair sample..... and yes a short haircut will mean they'll take it from elsewhere.....

OP needs to be 100% honest about it and hope wherever he is being cleared for will forgive smack use in the last 6 months.... I imagine if it's doing 1st line helpdesk support at the FCO they may be more inclined to let it pass than if you're working at the MOD and sit in front of the big red "launch nukes" button....

Don't p!ss about with clearance. They are testing to see if you can be trusted with Top Secret material and aren't open to coercion, including by people threatening to talk about your drug-addled past ( ). Telling fibs is possibly not the best way to persuade them.

Chances are they know about it already (especially if you're ex military). They'll also be interviewing people about you and those people may not be as discrete as you may wish.

Be honest. They won't care, it may even work in your favour.
Thanks mate defo was my plan from the start i only ever done it once and was discusted with myself for it to be honest honesty is the best policy

He doesnt but he might not have disclosed it in his post!

And I know for a fact G4S have exemption regarding spent convictions which people including the OP may not be aware of.

Are you in a grump or something!?
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Really, how would they know who my friends are exactly?

Because perhaps you have to provide non-work related references, i.e. friends... who have known you for 10 years?

Oh so you just provide the ones that are fine and leave the dodgy ones out. Though thinking about it, I dont have any friends Ive known for more than 10 years.
