    Anyone worked at BAA Heathrow

Just been put forward for a contract(web application support) at BAA Heathrow. Anyone worked there before, got any experiences you can share?

The rate is crap, but its close to home.....so if its a sh&t hole, then I'll forget about it.

Got a couple of mates working on T5, and I haven't heard any of them complaining.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Probably the noise from the all the aircraft movements there.

Mate of mine is working as a senior sparks on T5 and he's on £80k. He's more than happy.

I worked there on a short 3 week contract (Heathrow Point). I liked the place, very professional. Canteen was over priced though. Security was tight. My rate was crap too (I am sure the agency took a healthy margin off my hourly rate), but I needed the work so had to just accept it.

What agency did you go through?

                Fair enough, thats understandable.

I think its probably the same one I used as I think BAA may use this agency exclusively.

Anyway good luck, I hope you get it.

                  Was there for 5 years

Started there about 10 years ago as a contractor, and for the first 4 years it was a dream - good money, interesting work and a great environment. For the last year they went on a massive cost-cutting exercise hwoever, and basically if you were a contractor you went permie or were out. Believe most of the support is outsourced still (ComputaCenter), and most of the people there aren't that happy with the situation as they were forced to work through them. If you know who you will be working for PM me as I still know a lot of people there, especially in the Web department.

                    ps

They will have good kit, and the offices are very comfortable - definitely not a crap hole!
