    Microsoft Developer for NonMicrosoft techs

    Hi,

[Not sure if I should put this here or in tech section.]

I am a Microsoft Tech Developer (.NET). I am been looking for roles across and there was one role which did require CORBA skills as well.

From personal point of view I thouhgt that I want to advance my skills in .NET for e.g. (MVC, EF etc) rather then going for majority C# and then some CORBA kind of a role.

Would it be adviseable to go for these kind of contracts which require you to work on these skills (such as CORBA) as CORBA is getting obsoulette. I think my concerntration should be getting expert in C# and .NET rather then doing other things such as Java and CORBA.

    thanks

All depends on the individual role so worth finding out more if the .net side of things fit the bill. I'm a .net dev and one of my recent roles had corba down on the job spec but when i asked the techies at interview they said don't worry about it. In the end it amounted to calling into a corba api that some server guys had written.
