    Australia, Sydney, Agents

Feel free to post recomendations of agents in Australia.

I have a colleague who is in Sydney, Australia. Java, J2EE, JSP, Hibernate, XML. I think he is rather good.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
threadeds website, and here's my blog.

Best approach is to just spam your CV to every agent you can find. The best site for contract jobs used to be www.jobnet.com.au but I think they have just merged witht he australian version of jobserve.

The contract world is much smaller there so getting on an agency's bad side is not a good thing. Also the rates are nowhere near UK rates (less than half in most cases).

The original point and click interface by
      Smith and Wesson.

Step back, have a think and adjust my own own attitude from time to time

        Peoplebank

        Try:

        Virginia.Fahndrich@peoplebank.com.au

She is based in Canberra but has good contacts into the Sydney market.

Thanks for that Boris! He's a young un and new to all this contracting game. I recon he'll be going far, so a little help now will pay big in the future. (Mercenary to the end, I know.)

Seeing as there're lots of Aussies here currently thought I'd give this thread a bump.

www.seek.com.au has alot of work. A good site, although alot of the jobs are in Sydney, so he should be good!

Try JKM Consulting - not sure if they still exist. Julian Moss is the top bod there, he's the JM of JKM and his wife is Karen hence JKM. Good guy, born in the UK, minted and does us Brits a huge favour. Mind you, he's probably retired now, had a f**k off mansion in Watsons Bay worth AU$4 mill in 1995 so god knows what he''s worth now.....

Try Abraxas. They seem to have an excellent reputation and always make a point of meeting candidates first before putting a CV forward. Seems to make a huge difference!
For Java roles, try James Hill - james.hill@abraxas.com
He helped me a lot. Think their number is 0292221224 (but might be wrong!!)
